Mako Group Website Templates
Templates for three Mako Group Mako sites - Mako, n12, and tech12. Each site had its own unique branding but had to be organized within a matching design system. The main focus of the templates was questionnaires and form templates.
MY ROLE
Background
Mako Group is a media company that operates three websites: Mako, n12 and tehc12. Each site has its own branding and design, but they are all part of the same organization. The company needed a set of templates that could be used across all three sites, while maintaining the unique look and feel of each site.
Research:
The UX/UI designer conducted research on Mako Group websites to understand the branding and design of each website. They also researched other media companies to see how they used templates on their websites. The designer discovered that many media companies use templates for questionnaires and forms to collect user data.
Goal
1. Create a set of templates that can be used across all three Mako Group sites
2. Maintain the unique branding and design of each website and in addition create a uniform language between them
3. Make the use of the various templates accessible to Mako Group reporters
4. Create a variety of templates for different questionnaires and forms
5. Creating a custom design system that will make it easier for stakeholders to implement new templates in the future.
Design System/Style Guide:
Based on the research, the UX/UI designer created a set of templates that could be used across all three Mako Group websites. The designer maintained the unique branding and design of each website using the appropriate colors, fonts, and graphics. The designer also created two categories of templates: embeds and standalone pages.
Types of templates:
The embeddings were designed to fit the page on the site in two types: standalone - within articles and standalone - an independent page that works by itself. In addition, the designer created a variety of templates, including questionnaires with images, surveys, and forms.
Templates for reporters:
The templates created by the UX/UI designer were successfully implemented in all three Mako Group websites. The templates maintained each site's unique branding and design while still providing a consistent look and feel across all three sites. The templates have also been split into embeds and standalone pages, making it easy for webmasters to add them to their pages.
Summary
This project was successful in creating a set of templates for Mako Group websites that can be used on all three websites while maintaining the unique branding and design of each website. The templates have been divided into embeds and standalone pages, giving webmasters flexibility. The templates also included a variety of questionnaires and forms, which provided an easy way collect user data.
